Up to the Gabi area we take the historical route of the Stockalper Path with its “Strong Homes” (“Case forti”) at Sempione found along the track. This is an area made up of pastures and small Walser villages. The SimplonDorf hamlet, with its massive stone houses, harmoniously linked to the environment, preserve an Ecological Museum (Ecomuseum) (www.simplon.ch). From Gabi we go up to Furgu, a depression along the crest which takes us up to Seehorn from which we can then descend among Alpine pastures and pasturages in the Zwischbergen Valley up to the Zwischbergen Oratory and its nearby stage stop.
