From Malesco cross the Melezzo stream and head towards Zornasco and Craveggia through urbanized areas. A small stretch of road on the hillside leads to Toceno. From here, start to climb towards the Promez hamlet up to the height of the last houses, before entering the Arvogno valley. Above the road the mule track starts which, climbing in the coniferous forest, arrives at Colma di Fuori. Then go up to the last most recent hut and take the dirt road to the right that leads to the La Piana ski resort. From the refuge (1706 m), proceed north-east for the ski slope which then becomes a comfortable mule track and climbs north to the Bocchetta di Muino (1977 m). From Bocchetta you have to go down to the homonymous lakes (Rifugio CAI Emilio Greppi). From here, turn left and, after crossing the pastures of Alpe Canva, you will reach Alpe Motta of Vocogno. From here the path descends rapidly towards the Alpe Bugiola and Alpe Peccio through some avalanche gullies. From Alpe Peccio the environment becomes less severe, you have to proceed along the Cortaccio stream to Alpe Cortaccio. Then descend passing other areas subject to avalanches and finally you will graft onto the main path (M51) near the stopping point of Fondomonfracchio.
