Starting from the lakeside square in front of the town hall of Cannobio, take Via Sasso Carmine to cross the town center, go along the church and take the pedestrian walkway that crosses the Cannobino stream. At the end of the bridge take the cycle / pedestrian path on the left that runs alongside the Cannobino stream on the left bank up to the Orrido di Sant'Anna, spectacular ravine carved into the rocks by the Cannobino stream. Go up to Traffiume and reach the "Coss" chapel, behind the town of Traffiume, where ideally the path of the Via Borromea - Circuito di San Carlo begins, and which continues halfway up to Cavaglio. Once past the town, at the crossroads for Gurrone, turn left for Ponte Falmenta. From the provincial street of Cannobina Valley cross the stream and go up through a spectacular mule track to Crealla. Continue along the hillside in a shady forest crossing the valley and you will arrive to Falmenta.

Notable Items along the Track
The territory of the Cannobina Valley, of particular charm, still retains the appearance of the past. The landscape is marked by the testimonies of traditional peasant life, based on subsistence agriculture. The villages are characterized by unexpected glimpses, ancient houses with votive paintings on the facades, small squares, rustic stone fountains, which are discovered along the narrow pedestrian streets. Some viewpoints allow you to look towards the other side of the valley with the wild mountains of the Valgrande National Park. In Crealla an ancient abecedary is painted on the external wall of the parish house.
