Having crossed the rural communities in the municipality of Fondovalle we start going down along the valley up until we can see the river from where a nice mule path with hairpin bends goes up steeply up to the Stivello Alp.
From here we follow the scattered track marks until we come up to some small pastures among the large winter snow areas and keeping on the left of the shore we carry on till we get to the fork in the road towards the Upper Lake.
We cross the river and start a long and steep way up which takes us to a conspicuous small neck, namely, the Leaf Mountain Pass, from which one can discern the imposing great valley that descends to the Leaf Alp and Foppiano.
From the small neck which goes slightly downwards we follow along the mountainside and thus via a brief but steep way back up we reach Guriner Furggu.
From here onwards we can take glances at the great pastures of the Gurin Woods.
From the Leaf Mountain Pass a steep descent takes us down to the Grossalp Hut and following the path which cuts across the mountain pasture road we reach in a brief amount of time the small village of the Gurin Woods.
